Will's stunts amaze everyone.

Posted 23/3/2016

What a treat! Will Ackerley, a 15 year old cycle stunt rider, visited to inspire all of us with his daring, mind-blowing stunts. The whole school sat completely transfixed as Will bounced and hopped his way through his demonstration.

All of Year 4 have written Will letters to thank him for his visit. Lets hope he come back soon.

St Francis go wild at the Railway Museum.

Posted 23/11/2015

St Francis enjoyed every minute, of a fabulous day out, at the Railway Museum. Just for once we were blessed with fine weather and even the trains ran on time.

All the children thoroughly enjoyed the Rocket to Bullet workshop, many volunteering to help with the various demonstrations. Everyone really enjoyed their day and were certainly a credit to St Mary's school.

'I loved being able to climb aboard the Bullet train...' (Kamile) 'The outdoor play area was awesome..' (Harry)

St George's class on World Book DaySt George's class on World Book Day

During World Book Day everyone came to school dressed as their favourite book character. In St George's class we had lots of fantastic costumes; the classroom was invaded by Princesses, Superheroes, Knights, Fairies, Animals, Fairytale Characters, Ghosts, Historical figures, Nurses and lots more!  We enjoyed sharing our outfits and books during our Whole School Assembly. There were lots of creative and colourful outifts throughout the school and the staff got involved too! Back in class we did some shared reading of our favourite books and learnt about the characters that different people were dressed as.

St George's Advent PromisesSt George's Advent Promises

In school we have all been thinking about this special time of year and have made Advent Promises which we will be working really hard on during Advent. In St George's Class we decided to write our Promises on the shape of our hands. We then put all of our Promises on our Advent Tree to remind us that we are all working hard togather on our different Promises. We really enjoyed making them and will be working extra hard to keep our promises during Advent.

St George's Class, Superhero ArtSt George's Class, Superhero Art

In St George's class we have been learning all about the history of toys. We have found out about old teddy bears and we have built models of our most favourite toys! These are displayed in our classroom and we are really proud of them.

We have also been very creative and designed our very own superheroes. Here you can see a picture of some of us getting our hands dirty by using oil pastels to colour our superheroes. We will be putting these on display in our classroom too so visitors can see our fantastic artwork. What do you think of our artwork? We hope you like it as much as we do! Keep viewing our blog for more information on activities and what we have been learning in St George's class.
