| Welcome to St Mary’s Catholic Primary School.
We are very proud of the success of our children. We want each one of them to excel within our Christ-centred community where expectations are high. We strive to develop the best possible learning environment for the children entrusted in our care.
We work hard at St Mary’s to ensure that every child has access to a wide and varied curriculum. We believe that primary education should be full of experiences that children will remember for the rest of their lives. We aim that by the time the children move on from St Mary’s they will have experienced many wonderful activities and been given opportunities to develop their full potential.
St Mary’s has achieved many external awards, including the Silver Artsmark and Basic Skills Quality Mark in recognition of the work undertaken by the school. The children, co-ordinated and managed by the School Council, have been successful in achieving the Silver Eco-School Award and are now working towards the Green Flag Award.
There are close links with the Parish and the feeder school; Holy Family, Carlton.
Children are supported in their learning by Advanced Teaching Assistants through Intervention Support Programmes. Pupils’ progress is monitored closely and senior leaders identify areas for intervention, support or challenge.
Although a Catholic school, children from different faiths, cultures and backgrounds attend St Mary’s and all are warmly welcomed by our school community.
We are also very fortunate to have a brand new building project underway; developing a new Foundation Stage and outdoor play area, Year One classroom and admin area.
We currently have places available throughout the school and parents are very welcome to come and visit.
